Looking ahead to outdoor summer dining.
Pet-friendly, great food, local brews and relaxing views all go into making a good patio. Many have already been enjoying outdoor patios for gathering with friends and family for a meal, but we have a full summer ahead to enjoy. Whether it’s weekend brunch with friends or a family dinner by the lake, eating outdoors is a must-have on any summer getaway. We’ve rounded up some of the state’s best patios for you to consider next time you’re in the mood for some al fresco fun.
Mama Roja Mexican Kitchen
View Destination
We would say it’s near impossible to improve Mama Roja’s hand-rolled tamales and sizzling fajita skillets but eating underneath the shade of a lakeside cabana takes the meal to a new level. Whatever you order, you’ll be served craveable food, savory bites and a fresh twist. Be sure to check out the Fiesta Hour menu available Monday-Friday, 3-6 p.m.
The Pump
View Destination
Located on Uptown 23rd Street, The Pump is a go-to for locals looking for craft beer, good food and frequent karaoke, comedy and trivia events. It’s a great place to gather outside, enjoying the company and a sunny day. You’re sure to see at least 1-5 dogs, so come prepared to make a new friend.
Louie’s Grill & Bar (Lakeside)
View Destination
Settle in with some fried green beans and a longneck as you soak in a gorgeous Oklahoma sunset by Lake Hefner after a full day of activities. You can frequently catch live music in the summers, so be sure to keep an eye on its Facebook calendar.
The Hall’s Pizza Kitchen
View Destination
A frequent spot for celebratory meals in Midtown, Hall’s Pizza was created on the tradition of pizza and family time on Saturday nights. Start with an order of burrata on flatbread, drizzled in truffle honey, olive oil and topped with prosciutto before trying to choose one of its 15+ pizzas. There’s one for every palate, and each is made with high-quality – and tasty – ingredients.
Neighborhood JAM (Norman)
View Destination
Speaking of dog-friendly, this next-door neighbor to The Winston also sees its fair share of four-legged pals and knows a thing or two about crafting a brunch menu. You can try a new style of eggs benedict or sweet and yummy buttermilk pancakes, but one thing’s for sure: an order of made-from-scratch biscuits and candied bacon is never off the table.
Redrock Canyon Grill (OKC)
View Destination
Open for weekend brunch and weekday dinner, Redrock Canyon Grill’s menus consistently keep our mouths watering. The stuffed poblano, the Redrock Salad, the bone-in pork chops and a great view to boot. The outdoor bar you see in the photo above opens at 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and features quite an impressive wine list!
Social Capital OKC
View Destination
For a rooftop patio with views of Downtown OKC and Scissortail Park and 120 draft beers to choose, head to Social Capital OKC. After a fun day running around the city, stop by for a bite of favorites like tacos, salads, quesadillas and chips with queso to pair with your drink. $5 Happy Hour runs Tuesday through Friday, 3-6 p.m.
The Collective Food Hall
View Destination
Oklahoma City’s first food hall opened in the heart of Midtown to bring nine kitchens, a coffee shop, 40-foot bar, outdoor dog-friendly patio and a rooftop patio with views of the city. You can find everything from Philly Cheesesteaks and fried tacos to a fusion of Japanese, Italian and Pacific Island influences.
Flower Child

Located in Classen Curve, Flower Child offers a made-from-scratch menu that caters to all lifestyles, from vegetarian and vegan to meat-eating and gluten-free to keto and paleo. It serves up customizable bowls, wraps, salads and a variety of mix-and-match veggies, grains, fruits and healthy proteins. Regarding the outdoor patio to enjoy with your nourishing meal, their Instagram says: “Our home is your home – and your pup’s home!”
Waddell Vineyards
View Destination
Ada’s boutique vineyard serves as a serene, relaxing backdrop on your next wine tasting. Sitting under the nearby veranda with one of Waddell Vineyards’ award-winning wines or gathering on the porch outside one of its many spaces – either is a great way to spend a summer evening. Be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming Sip & Swirl paint classes!
The Winston
View Destination
The Winston serves up classic plates with a modern flair that’s more delicious than most pub fare you likely ever had. Dishes like Buffalo Chicken Wontons and chicken-fried filet mignon stand on their own, but The Winston also has a wide variety of whiskeys to enjoy on the dog-friendly patio.
