Uncorking a new adventure.
Uncorking a bottle of wine is like opening a book. You get to explore the story of how it was created, but through using all five senses. That’s what makes tasting locally produced, private label wines so unique. With holiday dinners and gatherings coming up, now’s the perfect time to dive into Oklahoma’s family-owned wineries. We’ll be taking you through the Adventure Road-approved wineries, tasting rooms and vineyards that have way more to offer than what you’ll find in the bottle.

Waters Edge Winery
This family-owned winery offers 30+ wines, all made locally with the world’s finest grapes sourced from places like California, Italy, France, New Zealand, Chile and Germany. Each wine is blended, fermented, oaked, racked, filtered and bottled at the Waters Edge facility! You can stop in for bottles of popular varietals like Merlots, Cabs and Chardonnays, or pick up some that can be much harder to find like Barolos, Gewurztraminers, Pinotages, Petit Verdot and Ports. Its mission is to offer you the opportunity to embrace your palate, and there’s plenty of ways for you to do so!
$6 Tasting Flights
Waters Edge Winery
That’s right! Waters Edge has four flight options, from sweet wines, whites, reds and the perfect trio, and prices start at just $6. The menu boasts an impressive selection of every varietal imaginable. Each is handcrafted, like the 712, a dry Italian Pinot Grigio with flavors of tropical fruit, peach and a hint of spice, named for the Waters Edge building on 712 North Broadway. Winery doors are open Wednesday through Sunday, and reservations aren’t required! Want free wine tastings? Join the Wine Club.
Craft your own custom wine
Waters Edge Winery
Be your own winemaker and create your own private vintage of wine you can later bottle, cork and customize with your own label. With help from the team, you’ll then receive approximately 25-27 bottles after the 5-7 weeks it takes to complete. Winemakers with more immediate needs can partake in the condensed “Adopt-A-Grape” program. This is a great opportunity for holiday gifts, birthday parties, weddings, Save the Dates, restaurants and businesses. Plus, you’ll have a blast bottling, corking and labeling your creation. Feel free to bring friends, family and food!

The Rusty Nail Winery and Tasting Room
What began as a passion project has blossomed into an integral part of the historic downtown Sulphur commerce district. Originally constructed in 1906, the building itself is older than the state of Oklahoma and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Inspired by a bucket of rusty nails left by the very first tenants, owners Debbie and Melissa chose to honor the building’s history by naming it The Rusty Nail Winery and Tasting Room. Now the mother-daughter duo is celebrating 10 years of successfully producing privately labeled wines and hosting a variety of recurring and signature events like Cork & Canvas, Teacher Tuesdays, Wine & Game Night, Sip & Shop and much more.
