You can taste the difference when a meal is prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and plenty of care from inside the kitchen. This time of year, many start craving dishes that are lighter, more fortifying and still flavorful, of course. You have plenty of places to choose from when it comes to healthy options with locally sourced ingredients, and we’re highlighting some of our favorites here! Whether you dine on the outdoor foyer or inside the European-inspired bistro, the Café Cuvée experience is always elegant and flavorful. Try the Kir Imperial Salad, a bed of French greens, Champagne vinaigrette, cherry tomatoes, bleu cheese, toasted almonds, raspberry-pickled onions and a Chambord glaze. There are always new seasonal specials to try in addition to its French staples!

Hidden in the heart of the Paseo Arts District is a cool little restaurant with a menu as colorful as its neighborhood. Picasso Café serves decadent, flavorful dishes with plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Stop in during the Paseo First Friday event to try ever-changing specials like the seared scallops with green curry coconut sauce, mango cilantro salsa, coconut-pepita granola, sautéed spinach and steamed jasmine rice. Every plate and craft cocktail is prepared with delicate craftmanship.

Along with top-notch coffee and café beverages, Elemental Coffee is always slinging fresh, delicious meals prepared predominantly with locally produced ingredients. Check out the variety of sandwiches, tacos, salads and toasts like this avocado toast that’s anything but ordinary. Heritage Grains multigrain bread is topped with sliced avocado, radish, cilantro, smoked salt, red pepper flakes, lemon zest and sesame seeds. This is a great spot to fuel your weekday.

Classic favorites like chicken pot pie and fried catfish are never a wrong choice. If you’re craving something light, try the citrus-glazed salmon served on a bed of Mexican elote-style creamed corn. When you’re not enjoying The Jones Assembly as a premier live music venue, you’re likely tasting its unique, mouth-wateringly delectable creations from the kitchen. This season the Flat Tire Pizza and Hash Money are on the menu. Fennel sausage, fontina, pecorino, bacon, a sunny-side-up egg, potato, rosemary, chive and a maple syrup drizzle combine to please the palate on the Flat Tire Pizza. Hash Money combines corned beef hash, a sunny-side-up egg and scratch biscuits with Jones tots, fennel sausage gravy, cheddar, queso fresco, jalapeño and green onion. It’ll be hard to pass up either of these at your next brunch.

After an evening of entertainment in Bricktown, stop at Charleston’s for a kale and quinoa salad packed with nutrients and flavor. Baby kale, quinoa, cabbage, grilled chicken, mint, green onion, cilantro, mango, green apple, dates, spiced pecans, honey-lime vinaigrette and peanut sauce transform into a dish much more than a just a salad. And how could you pass up one of Charleston’s flaky, buttery croissants?

And when the meal comes to a close and it’s time for dessert, tempt yourself with Osteria’s glorious cinnamon roll supreme with butterscotch caramel, macerated berries and Arcadia Pecan Praline.
