Making the day special.
As we prepare to celebrate all the dads and father figures this Sunday, you may be feeling stuck trying to find ways to show him just how much you love and appreciate him. Not to worry, there’s plenty of dad-approved spots on Adventure Road.
Brunch at McClintock Saloon
We’ve never met a dad that didn’t eat. Let’s start there! McClintock Saloon & Chop House boasts a brunch menu that’s hearty, delicious and sure to please. There’s chicken and waffles, steak and eggs, biscuits and gravy, even Loaded Tots: crispy tots topped with cheese, gravy, ham, jalapeños and two eggs. You can’t go wrong with any item, but we do recommend a basket of bacon for the table.
Fishing on the Blue River
Maybe Dad wants to get out for some fresh air. If he’s an angler, definitely point him in the direction of the Blue River, which is home to smallmouth bass and catfish this time of year. It’s also an idyllic spot for camping, canoeing, kayaking and rafting.
Thrills at Cross Bar Ranch
For an outdoorsy dad looking for thrills, head to Cross Bar Ranch to ride ATVs over its 6,500 acres of trails, rocky hills, wide open fields and creek beds in the Arbuckle Mountains. Outdoor Powersports is on site to hook you up with off-road vehicle rentals if you don’t have one of your own. Sites for tent camping and RVs are also available to book if you’re looking to make it a multi-day adventure. Each campsite is complete with electric hookups, concrete pads, picnic tables and grills.
Tee Up at WinStar Golf Club
Golfer dads would love playing a few rounds at WinStar Golf Club! Whatever his skill level may be, the two championship 18-hole courses offer a rewarding challenge. When the final round is played, Legends Bar & Grill will be there serving up cold beers. Be sure to book your tee time in advance online or by calling 580-276-4229 as it won’t be accepting walk-ups.
Gifts from Bromide Mountain Co.
For quick and easy online shopping, check out Bromide Mountain Co. Its unique selection of hats, mugs, Patagonia apparel and more offer some great gift ideas that are inspired by love for the outdoors.
