Locals and travelers alike sing the praises of Casa Romo. Of course, its menu includes the classic Mexican dishes we all love, but it also boasts signature items like potato enchiladas, brisket tacos, pork fajitas marinated in citrus beer. Add a margarita flight or sangria swirl and you’ll be in heaven. You can enjoy the lunch menu Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a special brunch menu on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. that comes with its own unique cocktails and yummy dishes like huevos rancheros and Eggs Benedict, served with fresh-cut fruit sprinkled with Tajin seasoning. You’ll want to try everything, but don’t get too full; we have a full day ahead of us!

There’s always something to enjoy at the Goddard Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, from art exhibits to live performances to studio classes. Visitors of all ages can enjoy a variety of cultural experiences and arts education opportunities. Upcoming events include a Met live opera performance of Tosca by Puccini on November 10 and the Sherman Symphony Orchestra on December 10. The current art exhibit on display is always free to view during operating hours, too!

Did you know Lake Murray is the state’s oldest and largest state park? A hub for fishing, boating, hiking, trail riding, lodging and more, there is fun to be had no matter what time of year you may be visiting. Premium cuts of meat like the steak above are grilled to your liking and can be topped with flavorful sauces like the scrumptious Worcestershire butter. House specialties include The Southern Favorite burger with pimento cheese, bacon and a fried green tomato. Start it off with a stuffed poblano appetizer and a premium cocktail and you’re set! If you’d rather come for lunch, Café Alley is open Tuesday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and nothing is over $15.
