Wake up and smell the bacon.
There are few joys as great as starting the day enjoying a fresh, made-from-scratch breakfast. Now with three locations around the OKC metro – Norman, North OKC and Midtown – Neighborhood JAM continues to delight both early risers and brunchers alike with its American classics and creative twists. Hot biscuits, yummy pancakes, sandwiches, hash browns, you name it! Whether you’re a creature of habit or a foodie with an eye for unique finds, there’s something for everyone at the JAM, and we’re sharing some of our favorites with you!
Let us know which ones tempt your taste buds in the comments below.
Signature Candied Bacon
If you’ve ever talked with someone who’s eaten at Neighborhood JAM, chances are they’ve raved about the candied bacon. Available to order as an appetizer for the table or to add to your favorite omelet or scramble (see “Fancy Meats” on the menu). A little sweet, a little savory, a whole lot of yummy, good luck eating just one piece. Try it out and see why it’s one of Neighborhood JAM’s most beloved staples.
Avocado Toast
You may think you’ve seen this Millennial favorite before, but this isn’t your regular avocado toast! Whole wheat toast is paired with sliced avocado, roasted Campari tomatoes, two eggs your way and topped with an arugula salad tossed with champagne vinaigrette and a balsamic glaze drizzle to bring it all together. This light, flavor-packed dish is just one on the “Neighborhood Watch,” a section of the menu devoted to giving you health-conscious options.
Lemon Poppy Cakes
Of course, you can never go wrong with a fluffy stack of pancakes. The JAM serves up lemon poppy cakes, which are three buttermilk poppyseed pancakes topped with a house-made lemon curd, a lemon cream swirl and a poppy glaze. It’s clear how this one earned its spot under “Sweet & Yummy”! Not a lemon fan? Try the pineapple bourbon cakes, cinnamon roll cakes or the decadent Excuse Our French (Toast).
Any (and all) of the Bennies
If you’re a purist when it comes to Eggs Benedict, the JAM has you covered with the Uptown Benny, a toasted English muffin, shaved ham, two poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and chives. However, if you want to spice things up, opt for the El Jefe, corn tortillas layered with green chile pork, tortilla chips, two poached eggs, green chile hollandaise, pico de gallo, cotija cheese, pepper jack and chives.
Biscuits and Jam
We’d be remiss not to recommend a basket of buttery, made-from-scratch biscuits for the table. Served steaming hot with your choice of jam or apple butter, it’ll be hard not to make these your entire meal! Plus, if you taste a jam you love, you can browse the shopping area to take home a jar of your own. Local coffee, T-shirts, mugs and more are also available to purchase inside the restaurant.
Breakfast Stuffed Poblano
One of our top “Neighborhood Faves” is the breakfast stuffed poblano, a breaded poblano pepper stuffed with mixed cheeses, pork sausage, black beans, corn, chipotle peppers and topped with hollandaise, crème fraiche, cotija cheese and cilantro. Three eggs cooked your way and pico de gallo are served on the side to round out a southwest-inspired plate.
Bloody Mary with a Punch
Behold, the Hotline Bling! This spicy glass of delicious contains bacon-habanero-infused Kraft Vodka, Kicked Up Bloody Mix, a Tajin rim, roasted jalapeño and candied bacon. For less heat, try the Fresh Fade, with flavors of cucumber and mint, or create a Bloody Your Way and choose a spice level and House Infusion that you fancy. You have plenty of options, like cucumber mint, cinnamon vanilla, bacon habanero or citrus squeeze. The rest of the drink menu is equally impressive, with local coffee, local brews, craft cocktails, wine, kombucha on tap and, of course, mimosas!
Neighborhood JAM is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Before you go, be sure to join the waitlist to ensure a table will be available. You can also order online for pick up or delivery!
