Tasty Bites to Try Right Now

Light, flavorful and oh so delicious.

On a hot day, we crave meals that won’t weigh us down as we adventure through Oklahoma. Whether you’re in the mood for something quick, something upscale or somewhere with a great cocktail, there are many places to go on Adventure Road for a delicious meal. Here are some of our favorites to keep you satisfied through the end of summer.

The Jones always puts a spin on its refined, regional cuisine in a way only it can. Right now, dishes like the Miso Salmon Salad — little gem lettuce, shaved asparagus, purple cauliflower couscous, avocado, tomato, soft boiled egg, black sesame and a mango, habanero vinaigrette — bring something light and flavorful to the table. You can never forget the cocktails, though. On your next visit, try the fan favorite Kiwi’s Playhouse: ginger-infused Mars Japanese whisky, Plantation pineapple rum, Becherovka lime, simple syrup, kiwi and aloe. You won’t be sorry.

Two spoons for one dessert could be a problem when it comes to FLINT’s Dutch Apple Pie. Warm, seasoned apples are topped with a buttery brown sugar streusel, caramel and vanilla ice cream. You may be lucky enough to try it at the next Bourbon & Bites event. Chef Michael Clark is the mastermind behind the fun fusion dishes FLINT pairs with its Old Forester bourbon lineup. September’s event will be held at 6 p.m. Stay tuned for more details.

With premium ingredients, even the simplest of dishes tastes phenomenal. That sentiment rings true at Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse + Mickey Mantle’s at WinStar World Casino and Resort. One crown jewel on the appetizer menu is the beefsteak tomato salad: juicy, flavorful tomatoes topped with red onions, bleu cheese crumbles and vinaigrette. This is a prime example as to why you should never skip out on all the fine dining options at the World’s Biggest Casino.
