Live, heart-pounding racing action returns to Remington Park with a variety of special race days and weekly post times through the end of the year. Here’s your guide to some of the schedule highlights. And remember: admission and parking are always free so be sure to enjoy as many as you can leading up to the Springboard Mile in December.
Opening Night | August 19-20

Remington Park kicks off its 2022 Thoroughbred Season with two nights of racing on Friday and Saturday, August 19-20. On the lineup is the $175,000 Governor’s Cup, which draws many who are knocking on the door of millionaire-earner status. The first race nightly is at 7:07 p.m. so be sure enjoy a meal at Silks beforehand. Wagers can also be made from the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor.
Oklahoma Derby Day | September 25

Remington Park’s lone Sunday afternoon of the season, Oklahoma Derby Day features a program of races worth more than $1 million and a variety of festivities beginning at 3 p.m. The Oklahoma Derby is a top Breeders’ Cup prep race for many of the nation’s 3-year-old thoroughbreds and is joined by six stakes races. The Grade 3 $400,000 Oklahoma Derby is the marquee race, with the Grade 3 $200,000 Remington Park Oaks headlining the undercard.
The fun doesn’t end there. Also beginning at 3 p.m. is the Derby Day Wine Tasting Festival, where guests can sample from Oklahoma’s finest wineries. Guests can also compete in the annual Oklahoma Derby Day Hat & Tie Contest, with hundreds of dollars in prizes available.

Featuring races in divisional categories exclusively for top Oklahoma-bred thoroughbreds, Oklahoma Classics is Remington Park’s premier night of state-bred racing with a purse totaling more than $1 million.
Springboard Mile Night | December 17

The Remington Springboard Mile Stakes ranks among the youngest prep races for the Kentucky Derby. It’s also one of the fastest-growing prep races in terms of national recognition and impact. The Springboard Mile has produced five Derby starters during the first decade following its revamped conditions. Plus, the increasingly rich prize attracts many of the nation’s prominent jockeys and trainers. December 17 is your chance to experience competitors on the Road to the Kentucky Derby.

An additional 18 stakes worth $100,000 or more will be up for grabs throughout the season. Oklahoma-breds will be featured in all 18 and seven stakes will be contested over on the turf course. See the full Stakes Schedule.
