Lounge Around Under Blue Skies
Lining the northeast border of the park are a number of hammocks available for guests to lay back and relax during regular hours. Bring a book, some tunes or a friend and soak up Oklahoma weather at its best.
It’s All Fun & Games
For visitors interested in more lively activities, there is a variety of games available near the covered pavilion, including giant checkers, giant Jenga, bocce ball and ping pong. Or feel free to take to the open lawn to play a round of cornhole, Frisbee or soccer.
Picnics on the Lawn
The Wheeler District frequently hosts local food trucks during signature events and select weekends, but packing a picnic of your own is never a bad idea! The open lawn is spacious enough to allow a variety of lawn games without disturbing those who come to relax.
A Gathering Space for Any Occasion
Whether it’s birthday parties, family functions, work outings or anything in between, the Wheeler District could be the perfect spot to meet and reconnect. Nearby food and drink, on-site activities and space to sprawl offer everything you need to enjoy one another’s company.
Nearby Taproom & Tacos
The Big Friendly has long been a Wheeler staple. Once a mobile beer bus traveling around to local events, it’s now a brick-and-mortar serving a wide variety of craft beer and organic wine. Also finding a permanent home in the district is Taco Nation, once the go-to food truck for Wheeler events. Both are located just minutes from the Ferris Wheel in the heart of the ever-growing Wheeler District.
Trails & View of the River
Not only does this area offer one of the best, most unique views of the downtown skyline, there are river trails that run 13 miles along the Oklahoma River. This is perfect for running, biking or taking a leisurely stroll after enjoying urban, outdoor recreation at the park.
