Spring Break at the OKC National Memorial & Museum | March 15-19
There’s no better time than Spring Break to explore the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum! Visit March 15-19 to enjoy a variety of educational and inspiring activities for all ages, including a Ground Zero rescue dog demo, Uncover-Discover STEM Lab demos, augmented reality experiences, National Park Service Junior Ranger Day, an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour, Teacher Free Days and more. Night at the Museum | March 12 & 19
To celebrate its latest exhibition, “Moving Vision,” the Oklahoma City Museum of Art is offering a late-night experience for all to enjoy. Every Friday, visitors are invited to explore all of the Museum’s diverse galleries, which will be open until 8 p.m. Admission for kids 17 and under is free, making this a perfect, low-cost family activity. Don’t forget to check out the incredible lineup of film screenings in the Noble Theater.
A Lil’ Taste of Stockyards City | March 13
The best of historic Stockyards City will be on full display March 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free event features a Made-in-Oklahoma market, live entertainment, agricultural demonstrations, beer tasting and more. You have a chance to win a $25 gift card, just stop by any of the merchants and restaurants to pick up your copy of the Leprechaun Coloring Contest. OKC Dodgers High School Baseball Series | March 11-20
Join the celebration of the official return of baseball to the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark with the annual High School Baseball Series. If you’ve missed live sporting events, this is your chance to enjoy a series of matchups between high school teams from around the state. Drop-In Activities | March 15-19
Bring the kiddos by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum to take part in family-friendly activities and fun make-and-take crafts. Each day is a different theme, from beadwork to pottery, with stimulating lessons to learn. These hands-on activities are free for Museum members or with Museum admission while supplies last.
Spring Break in the Park | March 15-18
Scissortail Park is the place to be for socially distanced outdoor fun for all ages! Activities include daily story time in the Play Pavilion, nature crafts, Park Ranger hour, fitness classes and even laser tag on the lawn. Food trucks and a full bar service will be on-site during nighttime laser tag so the adults can join the fun, too. See the full schedule here.
Spring Break Pop-Ins | March 17-19
Celebrate the coming of spring at Myriad Botanical Gardens with daily hands-on activities in the Children’s Garden! For $3 per child, visitors will get the opportunity to plant clover seeds on Wednesday for St. Patrick’s Day, create bird nesting bundles on Thursday and wind sticks on Friday. There’s no better way to soak in pretty spring weather than here in this urban oasis. Don’t forget to check out Reading Wednesdays, a free nature-themed event for kids held every Wednesday.
Spring Break Animal Enrichment Event | March 19
Watch as some of your favorite OKC Zoo animals put their trunks, snouts, beaks and noses to the test to discover uniquely scented items and treats created for them by their caretakers on March 19. Storytime at the Sam | March 17
Join storytime in the Grand Hall of the Sam Noble Museum, Wednesday, March 17, at 11:15 a.m. Staff will share natural history, science and animal-themed stories, free with admission to the 10:30 a.m. timeslot. Stick around and enjoy current exhibits like “Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice” and “Places of Power: Painted Photographs of Sacred Landscapes by Corson Hirschfeld.”
Forensic Osteology Virtual Class | March 19
Friday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., take part in the Museum of Osteology online Forensic Osteology class! Students will learn what information specialists can learn from human osteological remains as well as careers related to forensic science. Get ready to examine different trauma signatures on the human skull and how to differentiate between various types of injuries. The virtual class includes a 60-minute educational program, virtual exhibit and a virtual scavenger hunt. After reserving your spot, you will be emailed a Zoom link and password. Parental discretion is advised as the information covered in the class includes information on real homicides and images of human bones.
Virtual Showcase: Jae L. & Crossover and Special Guests | March 20
Log onto the McSwain Theatre’s website or Facebook page to stream live performances from the comfort of your own home. Watch as Jae L. & Crossover take the historic stage alongside special guests from around the state Saturday, March 20, at 7 p.m. As you watch, you’ll have a chance to be one of five winners of a McSwain Theatre prize pack.
